Online Addictions

Teenagers and technology go hand and hand, but when technology and the internet take over the lives of our teenagers, online addictions can become a problem in their lives. Liahona Academy is a residential treatment center that offers help to troubled teenage boys suffering from online addictions. Please, call our admissions staff today at 855-587-1416; help for your son and your family is here.

Is My Son an Online Addict?

With technology used as often as it is in this day and age, it is hard to avoid the use of the internet. In school teenagers learn how to use computers and different computer programs. Teens are often required to complete their homework on a computer whether it is writing a paper or using the internet to conduct research.

However, when a teenager is abusing the internet he is suffering from an online addiction. When teens are abusing the internet, their lives in reality are greatly affected. Online addicts will neglect social outings, become withdrawn from activities non-internet based, neglect sleep to stay online, become moody, depressed and uneasy, and notice physical changes (such as backaches, headaches, weight gain/loss, carpal tunnel, and more) as well as a variety of other symptoms.
Online addictions can manifest in a variety of ways. Teenagers will often become addicted to gaming via the internet in games such as Call of Duty or World of Warcraft. Social media can also become an addiction such as constantly chatting with people via Messenger or Facebook. Online dating, online gambling, and visiting pornography sites can also become addictive. No matter how the addiction manifests itself, it is a serious problem that troubled teenagers need help overcoming and understanding.

Liahona Academy Helps Troubled Teens with Online Addictions

Liahona Academy provides a relaxing, therapeutic environment vital to the healing process. Troubled teenage boys can find the help they need from this residential treatment program. Through traditional therapy, hands-on recreational therapy (recovery through activities such as skiing, hiking, camping, water sports and more), an academic program, and other programs teenagers can find freedom from online addictions and come to understand the addiction itself.

We strongly recommend Liahona Academy to troubled teenage boys suffering from online addictions. The professional staff will be there with your son every step of the way to provide healing and recovery in all aspects of daily life. After the duration of the program, your son will have a rejuvenated, positive outlook on life and will be able to find enjoyment and pleasure in the real world. Call today, 855-587-1416, your son is not alone in this struggle.
