Therapeutic Programs for Troubled Boys

Far too many parents write off their son’s bad behavior as a “boys will be boys” attitude, but the truth is that risky behavior and failing to thrive at school and at home can signal some serious issues that aren’t being addressed. When parents watch their sons spiral out of control, they need to find a therapeutic program for troubled boys that can give them a structured and safe atmosphere in which to rehabilitate. Liahona Academy is the one place where teen boys can get professional help and leave their bad behavior behind. Liahona Academy is happy to talk to any parents who want more information on therapeutic programs for troubled boys when they call 1-855-587-1416.

Why Parents Have Chosen Liahona Academy

While there are lots of teen help programs across the country, they are not all created the same. In fact, many boot camps, wilderness programs, and military schools don’t even offer therapeutic programs. Residential treatment centers like Liahona Academy are the best way for teens to get the help they need. It’s hard for parents to enroll their children in a school that takes them away from home, but in the long run, it is best for everyone. It helps that Liahona Academy is located in a state that has very strict rules and regulations on how teen help facilities must be run. That gives parents the peace they seek in knowing their teen is well-cared for. Liahona Academy has academic, social, and therapeutic programs that turn troubled boys into the young men they need to be to transition well into adulthood. Even though parents want to help their sons out as best they can, sometimes there’s no other choice but to send them to an out-of-home treatment center. If local counseling isn’t working, and teen boys are not finding much success at school or at home, a change of scenery is often the best thing to start the process of healing. Liahona Academy welcomes teenagers from across the country to its therapeutic programs for troubled boys.

Troubling Statistics for Teens Who Don’t Get Professional Help

Without therapeutic intervention, troubled teen boys will push forward in frustration and fear as they do whatever it takes to distract themselves from their real problems. Many boys turn to risky behavior like drugs, drinking, unhealthy sexual activity, self-harm, and violence. Parents who are seeing an increase in risky behavior have very little time to lose before getting their child into a treatment center. These are just a few of the behaviors of teen boys across the country:
  • Just eighty-three percent of teenagers in the country actually graduate
  • Twenty percent of teenage boys in the country tried alcohol before their 13th birthday
  • Thirty-three percent of American teens drank last month
  • Seven percent of all teen boys here have experimented with the drug cocaine
  • The suicide death rate for the USA is 12.97 per 100,000.
No parent wants to witness their son head down a path of harm and negative consequences. In the worst cases, their health and wellness are at risk. Instead, a therapeutic program for troubled boys is the best answer, and parents must do their research so that they can have the information they need to make a decision for their family’s benefit.

Therapeutic Programs For Troubled Boys Really Work

When it comes right down to it, boys who struggle with mental illness, emotional trauma, behavioral issues and more need to live in a structured and safe place where they can eliminate the distractions of everyday life and focus on healing. A therapeutic program is the right place for boys like this (typically you will receive a much higher level of care at a residential treatment center vs a therapeutic boarding school). These controlled environments are just what they need to get the right kind of help. Here are just some of the advantages of a Liahona Academy-style therapeutic program for teens: Therapy: The talents and experience of trained therapists affect each teenager as they go through structured individual therapy sessions to identify their issues and work to overcome them. Often, group therapy is used to supplement the one-on-one time. Academics: A good education is the key to a brighter future, and a therapeutic program that is successful will have a top academic program. An accredited academic setup can help kids repair credit, get to the same grade or level as their peers and even eventually do enough for a diploma. Recreation therapy: This can range from drama, art, equine therapy and music, to sports, service or outdoor recreation. When teens are engaged in physical activity and challenging their minds, they boost their self-esteem and learn valuable communication and teamwork skills. Life skills: Teen boys must learn how to care for themselves as they age, from hygiene and diet to laundry and cleaning. Resident therapy programs provide opportunities for them to help themselves and serve others as well. All in all schools with therapy programs are the best places for teen boys to be. At Liahona Academy, the focus is on strengthening the boys from the inside so that they have the tools they need to deal with their emotional issues, mental illnesses, and behavioral challenges. Because the team approach is so important in a therapy program, each staff member works together to provide the structure and reinforcements needed for the boys to see real progress.

There’s No Doubt That Liahona Academy is the Best Choice

At Liahona Academy, each boy benefits from the therapeutic programs that take place, and they get a real hands-on approach where they quickly become invested in their own recovery. As they build relationships of trust with therapists, mentors, administration, and peers, they get a clear view of what their future can be like. The link between self-awareness and improved behavior is what the staff at Liahona Academy is trying to improve within the boys. If there are any parents out there who feel like there are no other options to stopping a problematic teen’s behavior, they should check out a therapeutic program for troubled boys like Liahona Academy. Any parents that want to learn more about the different programs offered by Liahona Academy should call 1-855-587-1416.
