Military Schools in Indiana for Troubled Teens

If you have made the choice to get full time therapeutic help for your teen, you may be intimidated by the number of options available. While one of the first places parents research is military schools in Indiana in order to keep their child close to home, we have found that teens thrive when they attend a program in an outside environment. Some of the reasons for this include:
  • The opportunity to live full time in surroundings that are both new and challenging without the burden of triggers and negative associations.
  • Full time therapeutic programs give parents and teens a valuable opportunity to temporarily take a break from each other as well as the daily temptations and triggers that cause contention. Distance can be valuable when taking steps to rebuild your relationship, but can be nearly impossible to achieve when both parties are living in the same home.
  • Rehabilitation programs allow emotionally exhausted parents a time of respite while their son is immersed in an environment where he is encouraged to make positive changes and repair his important relationships.
Since 2000, parents throughout the country have trusted Liahona Academy, rather than a military school in Indiana, to help their troubled sons. Located in southern Utah, Liahona Academy has designed an accredited program combining therapy and academics with healthy play and day to day skills. Graduates of Liahona Academy leave having overcome many of their challenges and gained the skills to make better choices in the future. Some of the issues your teen may be currently facing include:
  • Suicide: Indiana is 30th in the country for teen suicide.
  • Alcohol abuse: 10 percent of Indiana teens report using alcohol
  • Drug abuse: 6 percent of IN teens use marijuana and 5 percent use other illicit drugs.
  • IN is 20th in the nation for teen pregnancy.
  • 15 percent of children in the state are diagnosed with ADHD every year.
  • In 2018, there were over 800 teen arrests for issues like drug abuse, aggravated assault, larceny, robbery, and weapons violations.
  • Indiana has only an 86 percent high school graduation rate.
