Military Schools in Florida for Troubled Teens

Although most parents would like to avoid having to send their troubled child to a full time, therapeutic facility, it is sometimes the best option. Finding the program that will be most helpful can be intimidating and many start their search by looking at military schools in Florida. Although a program within the state seems ideal for location, we have found that many teens show greater improvement in an outside environment.  Some of the reasons for this include :

·         The opportunity to leave behind the negative associations and habits of current life, allowing each teen to take full advantage of their new and challenging surroundings.  Residents can start over with a clean slate as they make the changes they need to become happy and healthy.

·        Therapeutic programs such as boot camps and military schools allow teens and their parent(s) to take a break while they each focus on healing and addressing individual issues. Temporary distance can be helpful when taking steps to rebuild your relationship and is impossible to achieve effectively when both parties share the same household.

·         Rehabilitation programs offer weary parents a time of respite and emotional rest while their son safely resides in an environment devoted to helping him learn to be a happier and healthier individual.

These are a few of the reasons parents have been choosing Liahona Academy over a military school in Florida for over 15 years. Located in the colorful deserts of southern Utah, Liahona Academy is host to hundreds of troubled boys each year. This location not only offers each boy a clean slate, but is also an ideal setting for the healthy work and play they need to offset the daily therapy and academics. Boys who attend Liahona Academy learn the skills they need to overcome their personal challenges avoid tempting or risky situations.
