Military Schools in Utah for Troubled Teens

Once you have made the decision that a full time therapeutic facility is the best option for your troubled teen, it can be intimidating choosing which program will be the most beneficial. Although many parents turn first to military schools in Utah, r s your sonwe have found that teens thrive more in a more therapeutic environment. Some of the reasons for this include :
  • A new and challenging environment that supports your teen in his effort to start over with a clean slate. Each boy has the opportunity to practice long term, positive decisions without the burden of old triggers and negative associations.
  • Teens and their parents have the opportunity to take a step back without going too far from home. Distance can be helpful when laying the groundwork for a better relationship, but it can be nearly impossible to attain when both parties spend every day at the mercy of a negative routine.
  • Full time rehabilitation programs provide respite for parents who are emotionally exhausted. While they recover, they can relax knowing that their son is spending the time away immersed in an environment dedicated to his health and success.
Some of the things teens deal with today include:
  • 4% of teens in Utah experiment every month with illicit drugs
  • 11% of Utah teens admit drinking alcohol within the last month and 5% report engaging in binge drinking
  • In 2018, 1,839 babies were born to Utah teens, which ranks 40th in the country for teen pregnancy.
  • 5.8% of children in Utah are diagnosed with ADHD each year
  • Juvenile arrests in Utah teens in 2018 include 26 arrests for robbery, 636 arrests for drug abuse, 56 arrests for aggravated assault, 710 arrests for larceny and 39 arrests for weapons violations.
  • Utah has only an 86% high school graduation rate.
